Second-year run of “The Mace and Crown” student newspaper and the first year of Old Dominion College. Magazine format (saddle-stitch, stapled): 6 issues were published in a monthly format, all 7 are published in this archive. Copied to PDF format from microfilm. Original documents average 8½” x 11 5/16” in size, constructed semi-gloss paper and color print.
This year-run represents and continues the news-magazine format under the Old Dominion College name. A letter from President Lewis W. Webb, Jr., appears declaring a new beginning for the college carrying its proud traditions while spearheading new thoughts and ideas into the future. Fraternities and sororities continue to be a main focus of campus life and source for reporting. Advertising continues from automobiles and banking to cigarettes and Coca-Cola.
